Liberty Hall, our first project has started

Community café and village hall

We have been working closely with Hackney Council for over a year to bring the disused toilet block on Clapton Common back into use as a community resource. It will be café and a village hall, offering the widest possible access, hosting local activities.

 

Where we are at the moment

Planning permission has been granted

We are close to signing our lease with Hackney

Drainage surveys has been done

Structural survey has been instructed

Initial funding is in place

Dave Cook, architect, appointed

 

What happens next – March / April / May

We sign our lease with Hackney

Survey reports passed to architect to draw up detailed plans and specifications for tender

Contractor appointed

Additional fundraising begins

 

May onwards

Building work starts

Food champion confirmed
